I am a transplant to the state. I was born and raised in Illinois. When I came up to Minnesota to attend college, I fell in love with this state, so of course, I had to stay, and it is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I have a Yorkie who goes by the name of Mousie. She thinks she is a princess. I have a collection of cookbooks because cooking is my passion. My hobbies/interests include music, reading, gardening, and the beauty of nature. I decided to become a teacher because I absolutely love kids. Over the past (almost) 39 years, I have taught students in third grade as well as grades 1, 2, 4, and Kindergarten. Thirty-eight of those treasured years have been spent in Catholic schools, and the reason is so obvious (to me); the opportunity to teach these precious children and to learn from them at the same time, in our faith-filled environment, surrounded by the love of Jesus, is truly the most wonderful, fulfilling, fun and humbling experience in the world. It fills my heart. Every. Single. Day. BA Elementary Education, College of St. Benedict MA Curriculum and Instruction, University of St. Thomas. |
